Best Human Weapons for Farming Coins

Smile Coins generate per hit rather than upon eliminating an infected target. Because damage does not determine your payout, weapons with high durability and low strike costs yield the highest coin returns over time.

The shop spear costs 3,000 coins and offers the highest single-weapon return among standard store options. It possesses 17 durability and awards 1 coin per connected strike, generating 17 coins before breaking. The spear also has long reach, keeping you outside grab range while striking infected players standing inside infection zones.

The katana costs 1,000 coins and provides 50 durability. It grants 1 coin for every three hits, delivering 16 coins across its entire durability pool. Because the blade increases base movement speed slightly, it functions well as an entry tool for newer players building up initial savings.

The chain costs 3,850 coins and hits multiple opponents with a single swing. Each Smiler struck by the lock awards 1 coin. Hitting four clustered targets in one strike yields 4 coins, allowing a full 10-durability chain to generate 40 or more coins in servers dominated by infected groups.

Weapon ChoiceBest SituationDurability & Coin Limits
SpearSolitary targets and defense against campers17 durability; yields up to 17 coins per weapon
ChainCrowded corridors with multiple infected enemies11 durability; awards 1 coin per target hit each swing
KatanaEarly grinding and open-area mobility50 durability; yields 16 coins at 1 coin per 3 hits

Secondary Weapon Combos

Adding secondary gear to your loadout increases the coin ceiling for every life. The glass bottle rests on the table beside Rob at spawn and provides two hits before shattering. Each strike gives 1 coin, adding 2 coins to your run.

The pocket knife grants 10 durability and awards 1 coin per hit. Escaping a grab consumes two to four points of knife durability without granting coins, so direct swings are required to collect currency. Players with VIP status spawn with a knife automatically on a 15-second cooldown.

Combining a spear, a bottle, and a knife produces up to 29 coins per life with VIP, or 19 coins without the pass. Equipping the katana with the bottle yields 18 coins per life for players using basic loadouts.

Farming Coins on the Smiler Team

Playing on the infected team provides consistent income without needing store purchases. Grabbing a human awards between 1 and 10 coins as infection progress ticks upward. Completing the infection adds a flat 5-coin bonus, giving up to 15 coins for a single capture.

Smilers receive an extra 5 coins if the captured human resets their character or leaves the server during the hold. Equipping upward-lifting hold animations allows you to carry targets into nearby infecting light platforms quickly, completing conversions before teammates can intervene.

Holding a human applies a speed penalty, but drinking a speed potion or jump potion while carrying an opponent bypasses movement restrictions on specific game versions.

Stage Interactions and NPC Targets

Certain maps feature interactive elements that pay out coins faster than standard melee combat:

  • Lumber Mill: Pressing the red button inside the control room feeds logs into a fire. Coins appear directly above the flames once the timber burns. Running this cycle on low-population servers reduces competition for the drops.
  • Shotgun Access: Activating the control console fires an environmental laser across the chamber. When the beam eliminates players or test bots, coin tokens appear directly in front of the console desk.
  • Slime Room and Bacon Site 9: Hitting slimes with multi-target weapons generates fast hit counts. Attacking The Giant NPC at Bacon Site 9 also yields currency based on server size, though the boss deals 15 stomp damage to close attackers.
  • Random Stage Tokens: Small, glowing white tokens spawn on floors across standard stages, granting direct currency upon contact.

Standard matches generate currency far faster than alternative playlists. While build and survive awards 80 coins for completing an entire match, the 4-minute build phase and 4-minute defense round require 8 full minutes of play. Blocks and modifiers in that mode also deduct coins from your balance, reducing net profit compared to standard weapons combat. If you want faster infection rotations, elimination mode rounds group players tightly for quicker Smiler grabs.
