The Infectious Smile tommy gun is a high-firepower automatic firearm found across select maps like Raided Hideout and Lockers. Requiring level 10 to wield, it empties its drum magazine rapidly to melt standard infected players and hostile giants within three seconds.

Tommy Gun Stats and Mechanics

Modeled after the 1921 Thompson submachine gun with a drum magazine and dual vertical foregrips, the Tommy Gun holds the highest baseline damage-per-second rating among all human weapons. It deals roughly 300 damage across a continuous three-second burst, making it capable of eliminating a Smiler almost immediately.

Unlike standard armaments handed out at spawn, the Tommy Gun requires a character progression threshold. The weapon remains locked to anyone below level 10 on the experience track.

The firearm features specific ballistics characteristics:

  • Effective range: 30 studs
  • Horizontal spread: approximately 0.15 studs per stud traveled
  • Recoil: 0.02 studs upwards per round (totaling 2 studs of vertical rise during sustained fire)
  • Firing duration: fully empties in approximately 3 seconds
  • Visual effect: discharges persistent muzzle smoke after the first shot

Because of the high spread rate, firing beyond 30 studs causes the majority of rounds to miss. The weapon performs best when fired directly at point-blank or lower-medium distances against high-priority targets. On mobile platforms, the interface displays a dedicated automatic fire button.

How to Get the Tommy Gun

The Tommy Gun cannot be bought from the standard weapon shop using coins or Robux. It only spawns inside specific stages that appear in the standard map rotation or during special events.

Map LocationAccess MethodRequirements and Trade-offs
Raided HideoutOpen the metal vault safe in the room cornerRequires reading a clue paper and entering a 4-variant safe code; limited to fewer than 3 guns
LockersUnlock the designated locker door on the 2nd or 3rd floorRequires finding and holding a green key; high traffic from other players
HeadcamBlast the cracked wall using a spawned bomb, then open the doorRequires both a bomb detonation and a green key; picking up the Giant Potion causes the gun to vanish
AquariumNavigate the second-floor structureMap contains reduced spawn volumes following seasonal balance updates; guarded by a hostile shark NPC
WarheadEnter the secondary subterranean path during a disasterHigh environmental danger with active lava pits and Smiler NPC swarms

In the Lockers stage, keys function sequentially: players often acquire a red key on earlier stages to open the red locker, which yields the green key needed for the Tommy Gun door. In Headcam, picking up the Giant Potion first causes any uncollected Tommy Guns to immediately despawn.

Raided Hideout Safe Code Solutions

Raided Hideout features a reliable Tommy Gun spawn that does not require a color-coded key. Instead, players must open the vault safe by checking the note resting on the center table. The note directs the player to one of four random code variants:

  1. Creator Account ID: The paper references the map builder. Entering the unique Roblox ID of user ilovedude556 (156228002) opens the safe.
  2. Map Release Date: The paper references the date the stage was introduced. The required sequence uses the calendar date October 2, 2021, entered as 10022021.
  3. Fallen Comrades: The paper hints at casualties listed on the shelter wall. Players take the green-circled crossed-out names (Evan, Steve, Adam, Jason, Douglas) and convert their first letters to alphabet positions (E=5, S=19, A=1, J=10, D=4), resulting in the safe code 5191104.
  4. Hidden Note: The clue states that the code rests elsewhere in the facility. Players must inspect six random spawn points across the room to locate a six-digit sheet (such as 671320, 892556, 771429, 524057, 314282, or 981723).

Entering the correct digits unlocks the vault door, allowing up to three human players to claim their firearm before the supply depletes.

Combat Role and Weapon Pairings

Because the Tommy Gun expends its entire magazine in three seconds, firing without a setup risks wasting ammunition. The weapon excels as a direct response to high-health targets rather than scattered individual infected.

The weapon functions effectively against the Giant NPC in Bacon Site 9 and player-controlled Giant Smilers. A single player unloading a full Tommy Gun magazine can reduce a giant's health bar by half or eliminate it entirely if shots connect cleanly. Pairing the Tommy Gun with crowd-control utility yields the highest success rate:

  • Freezing a target beforehand using an ice potion immobilizes them for three seconds, ensuring every bullet hits the torso.
  • Using a long-stun melee strike from a branch or bat prevents the Smiler from closing the gap to initiate a grab animation.

Compared to the single-shot knockdown power of the shotgun or the sustained single-target chip damage of the handgun, the Tommy Gun serves as an immediate burst tool. Once the ammunition depletes, the weapon breaks, requiring players to fall back on their sidearms or melee tools to survive the remainder of the stage.
